CHRISTMAS IS HERE

Mistletoes out on every door
Presents lying on the floor
Under the tree, decorated bright
And the lights glow throughout the night

There's excitement among girls and boys
Thinking about presents, games and toys
Happiness is in the air
The season in which we share and care

Santa with his reindeers and sleigh
Will come along on Christmas Day
He knows if you have not been nice
And you will probably pay the price

Jingle bells are out to ring
Plenty of carols, join in and sing
The festive fever is all around
And smiles are all to be found

Oh it's Christmas time, it's finally here
Never has it seemed so near!
So don't miss it, go have some fun
Because the new year has almost begun!

MERRY CHRISTMAS AND A HAPPY NEW YEAR

THE ACTUAL YOU

We all know there are times
When we fake a smile
Even though we've been
Falling apart for a while

There are times when people
May judge you the wrong way
But don't take this to heart
Just forget it the next day

It's happened all the time to me
On my sleeve I wear my heart
And just because it's vulnerable there
People seem to tear it apart

I don't know what I've done wrong
I just try to do my best
In keeping people around me happy
Because then I know I'll have a good rest

For me it's a passion
To be expressive and speak
And make people smile and laugh
Because this helps me when I'm weak

My personality is such and
I'm fine with that if you ask me
Some people may not say so
But I'm as unique as I can be

Not being yourself is a crime
Love yourself for who you are
Because if you look at it this way
We are each a shining star

Being someone else is like
Being a shadow unseen and dark
So instead accept who you are
And then you will glow like a spark

In life we start out as a small flame
And as life moves on we glow bright
We have to face the difficulties
But in the end we look like the prettiest sight

So don't put yourself out
Don't give up at the start
Because the warmth is inside you
And it will spread form your heart

THE MIGHTY FLAME

I sat outside with a lamp in my hand
It was almost night
It was a simple one made of clay
That gave birth to a little light

I don't even know why
But I felt the need to protect that light
Because every time the wind touched it
It would shake and shiver with fright

My hands covered it completely
Leaving just one tiny spot
It was so small and insignificant
Yet the amount of joy it brought!

It burned with it's brightest light
And on it's own it shined
It withstood the mighty wind
With a flame that was one of a kind

But there was a point
When it went out
And the mighty flame died
Not even a cry, not even a shout

I ran back inside
And gave birth to it again
Slowly the flame grew
Like it had faced no pain

It was a dancing flame
It was stronger and it was brighter
And it wouldn't give way to the darkness
Because this little light was a fighter

This lamp taught me many a thing
To always be your own light
And size doesn't matter
As long as you give it all your might

For the world you may be small
Just an insignificant flame
But for some you will make a difference
And they will never forget your name

DIWALI

It's celebration time everywhere
A sense of happiness grips the air
Good over evil, light over dark
Joyfully we ignite a spark

The flames of the lamps flicker
And the night seems to come in quicker
So that we can see the beautiful lights
The give life to the sky of the night

The darkness never finds it's way around
The night is lit up with every color found
Every house you see looks bright
Decorated with any kind of light

The Festival of Lights or Diwali
Is one we celebrate with glee
Laughter, shouts and sometimes a scream
For a few days you are living in a dream

You can sit on your terrace and see the sky
An array of rockets and Colors will go by
We buy new dresses and laugh together
Diwali will go on, no matter what weather!

It's a true indian festival I would say
For the entire year we wait for this day
So have lots of fun and spend time with family
And let me just add, HAPPY DEEPAVALI !!

TO THE FIGHTER

She stands tall, she stands brave
There are bruises on her face
Her clothes are ripped, but she doesn't care
And people stare in utter disgrace

But that doesn't affect her at all
Because she's a survivor, my friend
She may fall again, but I assure you
She will be there until the end

Her tear stained cheeks
Are only a part of her story
But with how determined she was
What is yet to come is glory

There was a time when she had fallen
And she was lower than the ground
A time when she was at her lowest
And didn't want to be found

But, she picked herself up
And Wiped away the tears
She told herself it would be alright
And got ready to face her fears

Now she has a story worth sharing
She carries herself with pride
There was a part of the old her
But with the new her, it died

The scars are still on her face
There to tell her story
Of how she was once an underdog
But now she had all the fame and glory

THE ONE THAT GOT AWAY

We loose a few, we gain a few
But that's life for you
It's not always fair, it's not always good
But things will get better, like they should

When we lose a life it's like a prick
Whether it was instant or whether they were sick
If it was someone close and dear
There's a sense of sadness and fear

But there's a theory for that
We should take it in like a fact
Sometimes god needs the best up there
So that it's only fair

Angels die too
And when they do
God chooses one from earth
And gives life to another birth

And more often than not
In life we are caught
Thinking about death
And when we'll take our last breath

So when it's your time just know you're worth
Being an angel, hence leaving earth
So dear loved ones please protect us from above
And when it showers we will know it's your love

THE DREAMING DANCER

What exactly are dreams?
Are they meant for us to follow?
Or to be shattered piece by piece
By whose heart is hollow?

Are they meant to inspire us?
And guide us to the right
Teach us what perspiration is
And make us fight with all our might?

Because it doesn't really feel like that
When we are turned down
And told we are of higher material
And told no with a frown

But the feet of a dancer
Don't suggest that story
But that of practice and hard work
And success, fame and glory

Her eyes speak for themselves
Her face filled with expression
The happiness shone like a light
And the sadness like a depression

Her dress the finest material
Her jewelry pure gold
She stands perfection personified
Surprising the young and the old

The music is the one that calm her
And all she does is pay a good ear
Every move exhibited perfectly
Of failing she has no fear

She moves as stealthily as a deer
She stands as still as a stone
She catches attention and steals the show
And only on her the spotlight shone

Because she is doing what she loves
And all she can hear is the beat
To which she moves like the elements of earth
But these are actually her own two feet

But she stands here successful
Her family filled with pride
Because she leaped bounds
And jumped off only to glide

And she followed her dreams
Even though it was thorny and rough
The difficulties were only an object
All she had to do was stand tough

Whatever she does, wherever she goes
I don't think that dancing spirit will die
Because she is a bird ready and free
And all she needs to do is fly

And so we need to follow our dreams
And try with all our might
The climb has to be difficult
But it's definitely worth the sight

BEST FRIENDS

The friends I have are special
They are all one of a kind
And the kind of friends I have
Are really hard to find

They're what you call true friends
They love you for who you are
And no matter what happens
We will never grow far

So if you have a true friend
Don't ever let them down
Smile and laugh together
Because true friendship is like a crown

And only a few are gifted
With a crown of gold and gems
And the ones on my crown
Are my dearest best friends

GOT TO GET BACK UP

Sometimes in life we fall so bad
We don't know of we will be able to stand
Or if someone will be there
To lend us a helping hand

But for many that hand is there
Showing that atleast someone cares
Helping you up to your feet
Showing you that life isn't fair

But many have to stand on their own
And dust off their fears
It may take all the strength we have
But we need to fight back our tears

When something bad happens
Forgive and forget they say
But they don't know about the scars
And what we fear each and every day

To forgive is okay, but to forget not so
Because what goes around comes around
So when you get back on your feet
Remember who pulled you to the ground

Because that person may have a pang of guilt
And think back to that day
When they pulled you down and hurt you
And treated you in an unfair way

INSIDE THE PAGES OF MY BOOK

I sat with pen in hand
The paper a clean white
I don't physically hurt people
I let my words fight

It may seem sort of weird
If I say paper knows me best
But it just let's the thought flow
I'm like a welcome guest

Some people say that
Only words make you bleed
But it's the moment you write
That makes you feel like a bird just freed

It's a peaceful process, writing
It holds parts of me together
And inside the pages of this book
I will live on forever

It may seem like a stupid idea
To leave yourself behind in a book
But it's the most beautiful thing
Sometimes you just need to take a look

NATURES CAUSE

I was sitting outside on a bench
There were a few drops of rain
Cleansing the ground
Washing away the pain

I saw the clouds moving by
The sun trying to be seen
Everything was so peaceful
I thought I was in a dream

The wind brushed my face
Like it was calling me to play
And to show their happiness
The trees would slowly sway

I sat there for a long long time
Transferred to a world so far
And the last thing I saw
Was the sky full of stars

And the sun gave way to the moon
And the clouds were at rest
This is what I was waiting for
Nature at it's best

That harmony is now disrupted
And be it night or day
Those clouds aren't white anymore
They've become a dull gray

And the trees have lost
Many of their kind
And the breeze doesn't call me to play
Because I'm too hard to find

Sometimes I go outside
Hoping for that peaceful pause
Where nature takes you away
Not for a specific cause

But just to show you her beauty
A one that's lost and cannot be found
It's not in the sky, not under the sea
And it's definitely not underground

It vanished with what we brought
The skyscrapers and the endless concrete
Things could have been different
Had we made the two ends meet

But instead we showed our qualities
Jealousy, greed and hate
And now we can't get it back
We have reached our own fate

But there was a time
When clouds would gently run
And the breeze would come out to play
But now that time is done

A HELPING HAND

We have all got that one person who put us down, sometimes so low that we couldn't get back up. But just remember this one thing...people only have to bring you down if they are lower than you. Never ever just stay down at that level ok?
This poem was inspired by a friend. Sometimes the person who brings you down is a person that could be the closest to you. If you see anyone go through this always give them... Helping hand

The time has come
The end of the road
Trying to forget the past
The baggage we unload

Those who were there
To lend us a hand
Have now just drifted away
Like writing in the sand

Washed away can't be retrieved
But not a drop of water shed
Because for a lot of time she was ready
And when the moment came she fled

Not aware of the broken heart
Not aware of the tears that were cried
She left someone behind as her baggage
And the best part of that person died

They came so long together
I thought they would go far
But instead she turned and ran away
Leaving behind the biggest scar

She was left there in her own
Till I came and carried her on
And as time slowly went by
Soon the scar was gone

Because when someone cares for you
Just acknowledge that they tried
And when they are put down
Pick them up and lend them a ride

THE GUARDIAN ANGEL

The guardian angel

There came a day she fell
She fell and hit the ground
Her halo, wings and feathers
Not a thing to be found

She was a fallen angel
Fallen from above
She was here on a mission
To spread joy and love

But why had she fallen?
Not because she had done wrong
But because she had to banish that hate
That has been here for too long

She was a young one
A child’s innocence in her eyes
A voice that spoke nothing but the truth
As true as the tears she cries

A mission so big and impossible
Was a bit too much for this young one
But she was determined to face the challenge
And undo the wrongs that had been done

She put in all her might
And grew old with time
Succeeding in spreading peace
And fighting against crime

She healed those who were wounded
And cured others from grief
And the world was at a peaceful pause
But for a moment so brief

Her time had come to go
She left knowing it a better place
She was carried of with the wind in her wings
With the same calmness beauty and grace

But never did she return to her heavenly source
Never did she have a goodbye to say
She drifted off leaving everything behind
And then just faded away

She was carried off to a place
A special place we call paradise
Made for those who cared and loved
And gave up all they could sacrifice

She woke up with a start
On a nice white fluffy cloud
And to see more white around her
And towards her a head bowed

“Where am I?” she asked
“And when did I come here?”
“Am I in the same place?”
“Am I farther or am I near?”

“No dear, you’re in heaven”
Replied a voice so sweet
“You are here for some important work”
“There are some people you need to meet”

She led her through a cloudy hall
To a big golden gate
“You may pass after I leave”
“Beyond this lies your fate”

She walked in very curious
But held her head up high
She was nervous like she’s never been
Her stomach full of butterflies

“Hello is anybody here?”
Her voice echoed in the empty hall
Clouds around her on every side
She suddenly felt very small

Out of nowhere came a beautiful being
Whose voice was the sweetest sound
Her wings were pure white and shimmering
A guardian angel who was crowned

“Hello young one I am a guardian angel
And I have a special job for you
I have been doing it for centuries
And I assure you it’s not easy to do”

“I want you to take this
And wear it with all your pride
Be righteous and courageous
And be the light that guides”

She took off her crown
And placed it on her head
The most royal crown you can find
With gems – blue, green and red

“Now you’re the guardian angel
Spread you’re love and care to all
Be kind and generous
And against the wrong stand strong and tall”

And she wore the crown with pride
Fighting for what’s right
Protecting love, abolishing evil
With all her effort and might

She stood tall like a queen
With all the world’s righteousness and grace
People called her the white beauty
And all she did was make this world, a better place

THE ONES THAT HURT

Many of us have been hurt in life. Sometimes the other person doesn't care, sometimes the other person does care. But whatever happens always stand up for yourself. Fight for yourself, after all, you are your own best support.  Here's a poem dedicated to all those who have been through this pain

THE ONES THAT HURT

I thought I was invincible
I thought I was strong
But many people many times
Have proved my thoughts wrong

As I sat in crouched in the corner
In my room no light
In the mirror the reflection
Only brought on fright

I didn't see myself as a whole
I couldn't even see my heart
All I could see was a saddened soul
Who was torn and ripped apart

My heart I would give away
Never returned as a whole
Taken away or replace what was not
It slowly affected my soul

Used and thrown away
By people many a kind
And I just can't give away more
My scattered pieces hard to find

What I do is share my love
Let people inside my head
Never had I ever thought
That this would leave me dead

I'm found when I'm needed
And other times I can't be seen
For some I'm just a nobody
Till I provide a shoulder to lean

I cried to my soul
I complained to my aching heart
Searched for the people who once loved me
But I only seem to fall apart

Well...you don't need to choose me
You don't need to know me
Just know that I won't be there
Of my presence you're free

I am human and I hurt
And when I fall down I bleed
But now I'm not complete at all
Only because of some peoples greed

THE STRONGEST LOVE

You guys may not know that I write A LOT of poetry and I'd love to share them with you! So I will keep posting the poems as I write it. This one is about a girl who's lost in this race we call life. Until she sees the world through someone else's eyes, someone who loves her and doesn't want to see her so lost and hurt.

THE STRONGEST LOVE

A tragedy, a bad tragedy had struck
Leaving her sad and stuck
All alone to wipe her own tears
In the dark with her lingering fears

Made a puddle....from her own eyes
As she sits there and cries
Only her shadow as her friend
To her sadness she saw no end

And she wept and wept all night long
Humming the most touching song
And those who passed couldn't help but feel
Her own sadness as theirs very real

Until he came and held her close
In her hand he placed a rose
A symbol of their love so strong
A sign that it would last long

He held her close he held her tight
Because her being sad was his worst sight
And they got by together by standing tough
Even though the path was thorny and rough

Because they never left each other's side
Comforted when the other cried
And love was all they had to show
To make each other's happiness glow

RESPECT
Respect to me is having admiration for someone. When you respect someone, you want to make that person proud of you...you want to make them happy through the things you do. Well, I live in a country where you hear the line "respect your elders" a lot. It's a part of our culture. I'm not saying that this is a bad thing to have in your culture. In fact it makes a lot of sense. But not to me...and I'll tell you why. When I think about respect...the first thing that comes to mind is a two-way street. Now let me explain this comparison here. Respect needs to be there BETWEEN two people. It's like clapping. You can't clap with one hand. If you don't get a response then you are at a dead end. But still in my culture you have got to respect that person if he or she is elder to you. Respect...is supposed to mutual. It's supposed to exist between two people who admire each other and treat each other well. I would respect any one who gives me advice or asks me for advice. Why? Because I know that person respects me enough to ask me for advice or give me advice for my own good! I mean...why not? The thing is I would not like to respect anyone who doesn't respect me...and I've already stated my reasons. Respecting someone who doesn't respect you is like giving a person a cycle...but they don't ride it. And that's why, I'd rather keep the cycle for myself or give it to someone whom I know will use it.
Hi there! Well this is my blog and it's very special because it's my first blog. You see the problem with me is that I am a very thoughtful person. And by thoughtful I mean I think...A LOT! So I spend half my life thinking about the things that make me angry or sad or make me feel a certain way. And the thing is...that these thoughts that I have...are actually REALLY meaningful. So that's why I plan to type these out and post it here...on my blog. See of you can relate to it or if you think about the same thing! Most people I know feel the way I feel...so I'm expressing it for them...and for myself! So...let's start this journey shall we!?
