VULNERABLE ROSES

I sat by myself outside
Letting the wind play with my hair
The sun stared at me with its powerful glare
And my thoughts ran free
Like the clouds in the sky
My thoughts ultimately came to this
In life, we are all roses
Waiting to bloom,
Waiting to be smelled
And be the sight of beauty in this world.
But what about those that come to us
Just to pluck our petals?
This is the same as being vulnerable.
We choose who breaks our hearts
We choose who we belong with
But the other might not do the same
And so we feel we lose at this game.
It's called love.
But if you've noticed,
Every rose has many a petals
And just because one is plucked,
It does not lose its beauty.
In the end, we all will whither and die
But what counts is the try.
The try to be something different
The try to be what's expected of you
But with your own glow
The try to be the one rose
That's chosen from the bunch.

BLACK SOUL

My soul is black
No.
Not because I'm depressed
Not because I'm in love with the dark
But because nothing can change me.
If you realize black is a color
That remains unchanged
Add red, add blue
Add green and another few
But black remains black.
Except for white....
That's a whole other story.
For white is the color of the pure
Why is it pure?
It lets all other colors shine,
Whilst it's always in the background
And that's why...
That's why when my white comes along
I don't mind becoming a dull gray
I don't mind at all...
For I know along with the white
Comes that solidity that I'm looking for
There's something about black and white
Together, that creates perfection.

Shades of gray will be my life
And I don't mind that at all.

THE MAN IN THE MOON

Stolen tears, Broken dreams
Pixie dust all over the floor
I honestly can't try anymore
While I sit here,
Mending my broken wings
I stare at the moon in the sky
Wanting to just fly
To escape reality
To escape time
To maybe just explore myself
Before someone else does it for me
I wanted to go and visit the man in the moon
For I know he won't be leaving soon
He sits up there and watches the stars
Counting them, touching them
Getting their magic glow
And sprinkling some on me below
He comes down, Carried by the wind
And takes me way up in the sky
And while he flies, he holds my hand
And I watch as I say goodbye to my land
And while I knew I would miss the familiarity
He told me I was worth so much more
And so he mended my dreams
Wiped away my tears
Helped me overcome my fears
And there I was born
Up in the sky, along with the stars
A place I can call home.

ONE SIDED LOVE

It started off with a daily hi
Then it went to late night talks
Dreaming about late night walks
Under the starry sky
We both promised to try
Love was in the air, you can say
And we both knew that one day
The most perfect place on earth
Would be in each other's arms
Away from the worlds harm
But that never Happened did it?
Our love just faded away
Like when water is added to color.
It was there, it was existent
But I couldn't feel it anymore
My heart, my soul grew sore
All I felt was the pain
Of losing a loved one again.
I cried to my aching heart
As to why I was always torn apart
By those who I thought loved me
By those with who I thought I was free.
I guess I just cared too much
And you didn't at all
I guess I dreamt about you in my sleep
I guess I thought you were one that I'd keep
But now from a distance I look into your eyes
And they look like the cloudy skies
No more with that spark I fell in love with
You're letting go of me,
And I'm letting go of you.

TO THE DIAMONDS IN THE SKY

As a small girl
I sat, feet together, Hair tied
Looking neat as ever.
I played, but gently. It was easy being a girl then.
And now when I look upon those easy times
Tears fill my eyes
As a part of my heart and hope dies
For I am that inferior, Looked down upon
Frail image in the mirror,
Whom everyone is free to judge
Whom people put to death
Taking a life's last breath
Because their baby is a girl
And what of my existence if
My sole purpose in life is to please the other gender?
But....Just what if I don't do that?
What if I tell you that I am the giver of birth
The one from which blessings of this earth come to life
The one who helps make this a place worth living in
What if I stand up and say
To all of society that expects something of me everyday
I say NO
I say you can't create my image for me
You can't prevent me from being free
I have my own wings
And I think it's time I fly
To a place up there in the sky
Where I have FREEDOM
A place that's proud to have me.
A place I can call home.
Girls, you are diamonds in today's skies
Just let yourself sparkle as bright as you can

WALKING AMONG THE CLOUDS

Oh darling,
I lost you
And so did this world
You made your mark from the very start
Your angelic presence was always felt
But...it's time to say good bye
Now that you no longer tread the earth
And that your soul is free
Now that you don't walk upon our land
And now that you can no longer hold my hand
Can you do me a favor?
When you're up there among the clouds
Can you touch them, Hold them in your hands
And comfort them when they're about to cry?
Touch the stars , Be among them
And when you get the chance
Give me their light
Fly to the moon
And sprinkle the moon dust on me
And every time It rains...
Promise you'll be looking down at me
Smiling with those pretty eyes
And I'll look at those beautiful skies
A true place in which you belong.

TO THE DREAMER

This is to those who dream
To those who make this world a place
Filled with hope
To those who make the impossible , possible
To those who dream beyond their capacities
Just because it's fun
Here's to the the dreamers
The first ones on the moon
The first ones to touch the stars
The first to love something you can't touch
And dream about such.
Here's to the imagination
That actually turned out to be true
For normal people like me and you
The dreamers,
Not just at night
But even in broad day light
Staring at the cloudy skies
They see beyond the normal eyes
They're the princesses in fairy tales
The frogs who turn into princes
And the little creatures
That carry pixie dust.
Becuase for them,
Seeing is deceiving
And Dreaming is believing
For they live in the skies
Among the stars and the clouds,
With the heavens as their view
