THOSE WHO INSPIRE

The happiest people
Have cried the most tears
The bravest people
Have fought off the most fears

The most beautiful smile
Has fought off many frowns
And the most successful people
Have faced the most ups and downs

The friendliest people
Have always been left behind
And the most caring people
Have not been treated kind

Those who aren't scared anymore
Fought the dark with the light
And those who have wounds and scars
Worked hard to win their fight

What's common among these
Is that when the paths have been rough
They've fallen and been pushed down
But they stood up more tough

THE KING OF THE JUNGLE

"I'll be back by nine"
To mom I yelled
However, I lost track of time
And on and on I dwelled

Until something big
Something long and something scary
With a touch of life in it
Was it a pixie or a fairy?

I took a step closer
And walked right into a tree
"This is a forest" I thought
I was as scared a I could be

However there was a door
That I opened, my heart filled with fright
And I walked in, feeling around
There wasn't an ounce of light

And then I realized
That I was in a huge room
With absolutely nothing to protect me
Around me was a sense of doom

And then all of a sudden
Two yellow gleaming eyes
Caught my attention
Watching me like I was it's prize

And then something strange happened
In my pocket I felt a weight
And I found a matchbox there
I lit the matchstick feeling great

My heart was beating faster
It felt like it was in my mouth
There was an animal in front of me
Of that, there was no doubt

I held the matchstick in front of me
And my mouth opened wide
For in front of me was an animal
I could best describe with it's pride

A thick golden mane and the same color fur
White sharp teeth ready to bite
I felt like my end was near
I was in no way prepared for a fight

I woke up with a gasp
I had fallen asleep on the couch
The TV was still on the channel I was watching
And on the table were my books and pouch

Just then the movie ended
"The lion king" it seems
I learned to never watch a movie
And then fall asleep and dream

LIFE OF A BUBBLE

It comes from a bottle
Filled with liquid soap
Blown away by children
Filled with hope

They hope it lives long
They hope it is strong
But sometimes they're right
And the other times they're wrong

If you've still not figured out...
A bubble is what I'm talking about !

It lives a life of thrills
Never once plans it's day
Instead it waits for the wind
And then gets carried away

It's pleasure to look at, you know?
It's so small and fragile
Yet it floats around like it's king
And lasts quite a while !

It brings us so much joy
Sometimes we make it go "pop"
Other times it reaches many a height
And then descends to a drop

And many a time the bubble dies
Before it even got anywhere
And we feel just a little pain
But after that we won't care

Because out comes another bubble
And with the same joy and hope
We pray that this one lives longer
Even though it's just made of soap

And so the bubbles lives go on
Sometimes it's eventful and fun
But sometimes it ends like a full stop
But about that nothing can be done !

CHRISTMAS IS HERE

Mistletoes out on every door
Presents lying on the floor
Under the tree, decorated bright
And the lights glow throughout the night

There's excitement among girls and boys
Thinking about presents, games and toys
Happiness is in the air
The season in which we share and care

Santa with his reindeers and sleigh
Will come along on Christmas Day
He knows if you have not been nice
And you will probably pay the price

Jingle bells are out to ring
Plenty of carols, join in and sing
The festive fever is all around
And smiles are all to be found

Oh it's Christmas time, it's finally here
Never has it seemed so near!
So don't miss it, go have some fun
Because the new year has almost begun!

MERRY CHRISTMAS AND A HAPPY NEW YEAR

THE ACTUAL YOU

We all know there are times
When we fake a smile
Even though we've been
Falling apart for a while

There are times when people
May judge you the wrong way
But don't take this to heart
Just forget it the next day

It's happened all the time to me
On my sleeve I wear my heart
And just because it's vulnerable there
People seem to tear it apart

I don't know what I've done wrong
I just try to do my best
In keeping people around me happy
Because then I know I'll have a good rest

For me it's a passion
To be expressive and speak
And make people smile and laugh
Because this helps me when I'm weak

My personality is such and
I'm fine with that if you ask me
Some people may not say so
But I'm as unique as I can be

Not being yourself is a crime
Love yourself for who you are
Because if you look at it this way
We are each a shining star

Being someone else is like
Being a shadow unseen and dark
So instead accept who you are
And then you will glow like a spark

In life we start out as a small flame
And as life moves on we glow bright
We have to face the difficulties
But in the end we look like the prettiest sight

So don't put yourself out
Don't give up at the start
Because the warmth is inside you
And it will spread form your heart

THE MIGHTY FLAME

I sat outside with a lamp in my hand
It was almost night
It was a simple one made of clay
That gave birth to a little light

I don't even know why
But I felt the need to protect that light
Because every time the wind touched it
It would shake and shiver with fright

My hands covered it completely
Leaving just one tiny spot
It was so small and insignificant
Yet the amount of joy it brought!

It burned with it's brightest light
And on it's own it shined
It withstood the mighty wind
With a flame that was one of a kind

But there was a point
When it went out
And the mighty flame died
Not even a cry, not even a shout

I ran back inside
And gave birth to it again
Slowly the flame grew
Like it had faced no pain

It was a dancing flame
It was stronger and it was brighter
And it wouldn't give way to the darkness
Because this little light was a fighter

This lamp taught me many a thing
To always be your own light
And size doesn't matter
As long as you give it all your might

For the world you may be small
Just an insignificant flame
But for some you will make a difference
And they will never forget your name

DIWALI

It's celebration time everywhere
A sense of happiness grips the air
Good over evil, light over dark
Joyfully we ignite a spark

The flames of the lamps flicker
And the night seems to come in quicker
So that we can see the beautiful lights
The give life to the sky of the night

The darkness never finds it's way around
The night is lit up with every color found
Every house you see looks bright
Decorated with any kind of light

The Festival of Lights or Diwali
Is one we celebrate with glee
Laughter, shouts and sometimes a scream
For a few days you are living in a dream

You can sit on your terrace and see the sky
An array of rockets and Colors will go by
We buy new dresses and laugh together
Diwali will go on, no matter what weather!

It's a true indian festival I would say
For the entire year we wait for this day
So have lots of fun and spend time with family
And let me just add, HAPPY DEEPAVALI !!
