She was sitting all alone
Under a tree, reading a book
The kind of girl that you wouldn't give a second look
Until there popped a rose, in front of her page
Initially filling her with rage
Then she looked up, to find a strangers face
The most perfect she'd seen in the human race
For his smile lit his face
Brighter than the stars lit the sky
She didn't have the courage to speak,
So she didn't even try
He placed the rose in her hand
Helped her stand
And placed a crown on her head
Not one made of jewels and gold
But one that would fade and grow old
One made just from the blades of grass
With flowers, pink and blue
One that looked like so few
For he saw her soul, he saw her heart
And he fell for her from the very start
And in that moment, she was a princess
In a castle of her own
Not made of bricks, but made of love
And her prince, was right beside
He was there, putting her on a pedestal
Under a tree, reading a book
The kind of girl that you wouldn't give a second look
Until there popped a rose, in front of her page
Initially filling her with rage
Then she looked up, to find a strangers face
The most perfect she'd seen in the human race
