UNSTEADY

I was walking on water
Not wanting to fall
For the fear that I'd fall in too deep
I have no idea how to swim
You've got to hold on to me

The water shook beneath my feet
Each step, I was conquering defeat
Each step a threat, an adventure
But getting me no further

My feet are planted on this unsteady surface
But all I want, is to fly
So how do I touch the sky
When the only thing I see is the bed of the ocean?

It seemed so far off, yet reachable
And so did the stars, and the sky, and all that I knew
All that lived and loved in that sky so blue

Until you whispered to me
Don't fight the flight
And you took off spreading your glorious wings
While my fear of falling in grew
I struggled on my own
Shaking with every step ahead

You flew down, held my hand
And Made me stand
You made me fly, touch the sky
While I told you to hold onto me
Because I was a little unsteady

And you did much more than that

BATTLEFIELD

Soldier or passion?
Is it but not the same?
Fighting for your countries name
For the lives that inhabit that land
They stand hand in hand

So here lies the story
Of a soldier so brave
That his name and glory
Lived beyond the grave

He was young and filled with hope
He was a pure and brave heart
And his only dream was to serve his nation
From the very start

And so he trained endlessly
He possessed quite a will, this one
He would never quit and run
He would stand strong, for long
And when times got harder,
He would dig his feet in deeper
Deeper into his mothers soil
For her, it was worth the toil

And he trained until
There was a " General " in front of his name
Not for the title, not for the fame
But all for his mother

And when this soldier was on the battlefield
Facing obstacles he had prepared to face
His only thought? To save his race
To save his kind, to save his land
To be that helping hand
He was a guardian angel, sent from above
Fighting for his love
And it is nothing but passion that drove him

For when his skin is cut
And he bleeds a blood so red
His country is not dead

For all those lives he saved
For more than a million hearts
He was more than a soldier
He was an inspiration
For an entire nation

EDITED SCENES

I deleted our pictures
Forgot your number
Erased our chats
And tore your letters .
Those memories we made...
They went too
Everything that reminded me of you
Is now non existent in my life
But my heart?
It has your fingerprints all over it
And you want to know why?
Because you touched me
You touched my heart
And by doing so...
You made it a complete part
But now my heart is no longer complete
And it longs for your touch
It longs for your warmth
It longs to be complete again
But where are you?
You are lost in the distance
So far away I can't see you
So far away that even if I scream
It'll all just seem like a dream
Oh how I wish it was one for me too...
How I wish it was a dream that wasn't about you.

I AM WOMAN

It's not easy being a woman
Being constantly thrown in the critique of society
They clip you're wings, don't let you fly free
They tell us who to be
How to laugh, how to sit, how to smile, how to act
We sit still and look pretty, we don't interact
They tell us how to dress
They say we don't need an education!
But tell me this...
In our lands, Mother Earth
We are the givers of birth
We walk these lands, stripped of freedom
But yet all we do is care
It really is unfair
To be seen as nothing but an object
But I will not let them objectify me!
I will not let society tell me who to be!
We will walk that walk of grace
We will be accepted in the human race
It's not an option,To be treated like a slave
We...we will stand tall and be brave
For we are women
I am women
And although it pains us to walk
With feet so bare
We will move on while you stand and stare
And we will continue to love, for one and for all
And stand up quicker than we fall
Our clipped wings will grow, and we will fly
Watch how we conquer our lands and the sky

THE INDIAN GIRL

Caught in the stares of a thousand men
She adjusted her top
To hide her dark circles from sleepless nights
She covered her beauty in make up
Hearing nothing but whistles while she walked in the night
She walked her fastest with nothing but street lights
And while her friends were only one call away
This is how she felt everyday

This is the sad story of the girls of India today
There's not much we can say!
For we have fought,
For our rights and freedom
But it was never given to us
And now we pay the price.

From an age so young we are taught to feel fear
And it only gets worse year by year
We are taught to go out only in broad daylight
And not venture out in the night

We are told to "dress appropriately"
Wear something that covers your knee
Wear a shirt that covers your full arm
Just to stay away from harm?

But what happened to curbing the ideas of men?
Why Are they allowed so walk free?
Why isn't society,
Telling them who they're supposed to be?

Why can't we point and laugh and stare
Treat them unfair
And make then feel insecure,
Question the existence of their future.

But no, we are not taught to be like that
Instead we hide behind a veil
Almost worse than jail
We let ourselves be ruled by a male

TO BE A CHILD

They laugh, they smile
Their biggest fear is monsters under the bed
They have a sparkle in their eyes
And hope in their hearts
It's a hope that's new
How many of us have it? Very few
They don't doubt, they just do
The only race that matters to them
Is a running race they want to win
The only line they don't want to cross
Is that in which they color in
Not a worry in the world
As it's yet to unfurl
A soul that's innocent, ready to run free
Before being caged by society
How amazing was it to be a child?
Not ever being judged for being wild
Carrying a future on your shoulders
Dreaming away to glory
Believing in things like magic
And the tooth fairy
Not afraid to tell anyone
What you find scary
No feeling of insecurity
Never facing anyone's scrutiny
But the best of all?
Carrying a hope in your heart
I hope that from you it never parts
I hope that your dreams come true
Just keep doing what you do

BLACK AND BEAUTIFUL

The days of racism are done
The days of inequality are done
They days in which the white ruled
And black were slaves is done
Yet, somewhere in America,
There is a man who believes in these stereotypes

While, in other parts of the world,
They stand up not for their color
But for the human race
Not for shame, not for disgrace
They stand for the color of their skin
They may not be white, but who gives a damn?

And so to all those who aren't white,
To all those who flaunt a skin color of their own
You have faced this from a time unknown
And so I will stand up for you

I will say that you are beautiful
In you're own unique way
I will say that you are amazing
Because if the heart you have
If only our eyes saw souls instead of bodies
Our ideals of beauty would be so different
