EXPLOSION OF COLORS

She's an explosion of red
She's got red lips that you'd want to kiss
She's got that lingering touch that you will miss
Her red gown flows like a river in the wild
She's got just spics, no time for mild
And if you love her, your heart will bleed
Bleed for her soul till it's freed

She's an explosion of yellow
She's brighter than the sun
She's a dancing star having her own fun
She's got star dust in her eyes
She's fallen from the skies
She lights up our sky, big and blue
She's made of fire like so few

She's an explosion of orange
She's warm, she's mild
But trust me darling, she could be wild
Her personality is such, that you'll fall in love
She might just be gods favorite angel from above
She stands, unique
A blend of different colors to make her own
She is proof that we have grown

She's an explosion of green
She's the queen of our planet, earth
She's the mother of our skies, the reason for our birth
Where she walks, flowers grow
She's the reason the waters flow
She's the reason behind the leaves on the tree
She's a bird, steady and free

She's an explosion of blue
She has eyes that look as deep as the sea
She's the color of the sky in which birds roam free
A touch as gentle as water on your skin
She's the kind of soul who roams with the wind
Never can you cage her heart,
She's hard to catch, just goes with the flow
She'll be gone before you know

She's an explosion of pink
She's the calm before the storm
She's the color that makes you feel warm
She's got her hues in the sky
She's the color your nose turns when you cry
She dawns the petals of many a rose
She's a girls favorite as far as stereotypes go

She's an explosion of purple
She's shares the sky along with pink
She makes a royal red or blue look bad
For she dawns the kings and queens alike
She's a beauty, she's different, one of a kind
She's the type that takes you beyond your mind

She's an explosion of white
She will never raise her hand
For peace, tall she stands
Her heart the purest in our world
She looks to make a change, she but just a girl
She speaks the truth, the word may hurt
But she looks to protect her mothers soil and dirt

She's an explosion of black
She stands for the dark
But without her the stars would have had no spark
She stands for the depressed, she stands for the wrong
But she's her own beautiful song
For she lays herself like a blanket on the earth
She sees death and she sees birth

She's an explosion of grey
A merge of black and white
She's the kind of color that'd please your sight
She's the cue for rain to fall
She's a mixture of one, a mixture of all

COLOR

I saw just black and white
Every small detail missed
It was all just a blur
Monochrome. It defined my sight
The same during morning and night

Black and white all around
From the very sky to the ground
No other color to be found
Just a plain old black and white movie
That was all was known to me

But one day, when you were in my vision
Color started flowing from your veins
When you spoke, you spoke of rainbows
Colors flowing from your very existence
Almost like you were a work of art
Darling, you painted my heart

You painted my heart red
You painted the pictures I have in my head
You gave color to the world around my me
I no more just read about the colors I see

I read about leaves that turn, from yellow to green
I've read about all of the colors you've seen
But to actually experience that? It's whole new world
And I have only you to thank

CHRISTMAS WISH

Oh Christmas tree, oh Christmas tree
This year beneath your branches, I place hope
For it seems that wishes come true
When placed under your lovely branches

I'll hope, not for a teddy bear or candy
Not for a game or a small puppy

But I'll hope for world peace
I'll hope that love will be the greatest of all
That to war, no man will ever fall
That on faces, there'll be smiles instead
Not just scars, bleeding red

I'll hope for love, I'll hope for faith
I'll hope for life instead of death
I'll hope that a persons first heart beat
Wasn't accompanied by their last breath

I'll hope for religion to create no border
For justice to actually be served in the courts of law and order
That a bombing in Mumbai won't be on the news
That we won't just have to read about feuds
That once in a while, the victim survives
I hope this wish saves all those lives

Santa Claus, this one is tough
But war's been here for too long, and it's enough
Hoping that this wish upon a star
Will prevent and heal these battle scars

REBEL

I sit in front of this page
And write out my worry
The words all seem to come out in a hurry
For they've been on my mind for quite some time
And if they are spoken out loud, I'll be committing a crime

For they are words of hate
They seem to have bad fate
Or maybe, they are words of guilt
Just growing while the number of days have built

And they are trying to climb over this wall
Not knowing the consequences at all

I write on this page
Filled with rage
About the thoughts and words against me
I too am human, I too am free
But I've been shackled up by fear
No one is willing to hear
I speak, but no words come out
I scream! I try to shout
But it's all an epic fail

And so I write on this page
Hoping that people will read
My thoughts? They have now been freed
For they adorn this page like gold
Not caring about the fact that they will get old

I am a rebel, not willing to speak
Yet I write, I write for the weak
For those who have no voice
For those who made that choice
To save their words for those who care
Who choose to embrace this world unfair

I am a rebel, but worry not
For I will never get caught

SECOND CHANCES

I looked down upon the ground
While I stood on the cliff, high
I could almost touch the sky
But no, I had to fly

My heart skipped more than a hundred beats
I just couldn't let go of the ground beneath my feet
Till the wind pushed me

And I fell and I fell, Down into a never ending abyss
Hoping that my wings wouldn't be so scarred
Too scarred to fly, And as time went by
I was wishing that I had jumped on my own
I wish I had used the wings I had grown

But the fallen stars told me different
For they mended my wings
But they left the scars
And they told me, that there was a place in the sky
A place meant for me, when I'm ready to fly

And just like that, I got my second chance
A chance to jump, on my own
To show the fallen stars that I had grown
To rise above the deep abyss

I had lost hope on my scarred wings, but I rose above it all
And only now I realize, it was all because of the fall

PRINCE AND PRINCESS

She was sitting all alone
Under a tree, reading a book
The kind of girl that you wouldn't give a second look

Until there popped a rose, in front of her page
Initially filling her with rage
Then she looked up, to find a strangers face
The most perfect she'd seen in the human race
For his smile lit his face
Brighter than the stars lit the sky
She didn't have the courage to speak,
So she didn't even try

He placed the rose in her hand
Helped her stand
And placed a crown on her head
Not one made of jewels and gold
But one that would fade and grow old
One made just from the blades of grass
With flowers, pink and blue
One that looked like so few

For he saw her soul, he saw her heart
And he fell for her from the very start
And in that moment, she was a princess
In a castle of her own
Not made of bricks, but made of love

And her prince, was right beside
He was there, putting her on a pedestal

SLEEPING AT LAST

You have a headache, and a pain in your heart
It's been there from the very start
The doubt, the regret
You just want to forget
Forget that you were ever a disgrace
Maybe, just maybe win the race

You promise yourself that you'll be the best
You promise yourself you'll do better than the rest
But your heart is too young to understand the value of loss
You are yet to understand that pain...
Pain comes and goes like the rain
But if you ever feel worthless, let me tell you this

You have the courage of a star
You light up the dark with your own tiny spark
You live beyond the hate
Believe that you are great
The universe exists
To feel your footprints
To feel your breath
To let you live beyond your death
Your existence is beautiful

If your pillow is soaked with tears
Then trust me you are brave, for you are human
You feel loss, you feel pain
But like I said, it's like the rain
It is but a storm in your sunny life

So, go to sleep my love
And shine when there's a doubt in your heart
Trust me, you've had that spark from the very start
And when you are sleeping at last
Don't think about the past

You have the courage of a star
And you light up the dark
You have your own beautiful spark
