REJECTION

The invisible tears in my eyes
The broken smile on my face
Feeling worthless
Very much out of place
Confidence at an all time low
The tears just seem to flow
An already aching heart
Is breaking, falling apart
While I watch others
Do what I love to do
It all just seems so hopeless
And while I gave it my all
I guess it just wasn't good enough
And I lie here, defeated, on the ground
Waiting to be discovered, waiting to be found
And the broken smile on my face
Reassures many a heart
It doesn't hide the fact that I'm still falling apart
That I'm feeling hopeless
Like I'm about to cry
And I can't reach the top
No matter how hard I try
I'll always be a backup, a nobody
Never the main man in the team
It makes me want to give up on my dreams
And so the tears collect in my aching heart
There seems to be no finish to my start
But I guess I'm already there
Broken, bruised and treated unfair
