THE LOST STARS

There are certain people
In this world of ours
Who we consider to be stars
Not because they look good
Or act well
But because they shine bright
And spread their light
They're like a moon in the night
And we often think about one thing
Death.
Why is it that those who are loved the most
Are the first ones who are lost
Why are the good often taken away
And why is it that we have no say?
It's a part of the journey
Life and death
Any moment could be your last breath
But these stars that get taken away...
You won't find them any other day.
For these are the treasures
Of the heavens above
Who come down here
To spread their joy and love
It's the oldest story in the book
That the heavens are in love with their stars
And so no matter how far
They pick them up from among the crowd
So they can rule from the skies and clouds
For these stars are not just balls of light
They don't just show us the right
They are future Angels
They put the stars in our eyes
And then they look after us from the skies
